The ORCA Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page you see when you log in. It's designed to give you a clear picture of where things stand without having to dig through records - your open tasks, what's coming up, and what you've been working on recently, all in one place.
Although it starts fairly empty when you first set up ORCA, it quickly becomes the natural starting point for your day as your records and interactions build up.
The Greeting
At the top of the dashboard you'll see a greeting that adjusts to your current situation - not just your name and the time of day, but a brief summary of what's most pressing. If you have overdue tasks or interactions scheduled for today, the greeting reflects that. If your slate is clear, it'll tell you that too.
Your To-Do List
The to-do panel on the left side of the dashboard shows your open tasks - anything assigned to you that hasn't been completed yet.
Tasks that are overdue are highlighted: the row takes on a warm tint and the title and due date turn amber, so they're immediately visible without you having to scan through dates.
You can tick off a task directly from the dashboard by clicking its checkbox. The list updates immediately without a page reload.
To add a new task quickly, use the global to-do drawer, accessible from the checkmark icon in the top navigation bar. This lets you create, view, and manage all your to-dos without leaving whatever page you're on.
Today / Next
To the right of the to-do list, the Today / Next panel shows your upcoming interactions - meetings, calls, or any scheduled touchpoint - ordered by date.
Items scheduled for today are highlighted in indigo so they stand out. For anything further out, you'll see a human-readable label like "Tomorrow", "In 3 days", or the date itself for anything more than a week away.
This panel pulls directly from your scheduled interactions, so it stays up to date as your calendar fills in. Click any item to go straight to that interaction's detail page.
Recent Accounts
Below the main panels you'll find a list of accounts you've recently viewed or updated. This is a quick way to pick up where you left off without searching.
Each account shows the last time you viewed or updated it, along with the account's country if that's been filled in.
Recent News
If your ORCA account has the News plugin enabled, the dashboard also surfaces recently added news items. Each item shows its title and when it was added, with newer items at the top.
Recent Activity
At the bottom of the dashboard, Recent Activity gives you a running log of actions taken across your account - new records created, interactions logged, and so on. Entries are grouped by how recently they happened (today, yesterday, this week, and so on).
Navigation Bar Tools
The navigation bar at the top of every page in ORCA gives you quick access to a few tools worth knowing about:
To-Do Drawer - the checkmark icon opens the global to-do drawer, where you can create, search, and manage tasks from anywhere in the app. Your selected tab (My To-Dos vs All) is remembered as you navigate between pages.
Side Panel - the chat bubble icon (top-right of the nav bar) opens a panel with three tabs: AI Assist, Staff Chat, and Feedback. If there are unread Staff Chat messages, the icon shows a badge with the total unread count. The AI Assist tab is context-aware on record detail pages - it knows which record you're looking at and can answer questions about it directly.
If you're ever unsure where to go next, the dashboard is a good place to reorient. It's built to reflect your current priorities rather than just being a generic overview.
